CBJ taking steps to enable fintech. In response to the strategic priority to develop Jordan into a leading regional fintech hub, as outlined in the 2022 Jordan Economic Modernisation Vision, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) have established a dedicated Financial Technology and Innovation (FTI) division within the Oversight & Supervision on National Payment System Department (Government of Jordan, 2022). The FTI division has been mandated with driving innovation and providing a supportive environment for fintechs2 in Jordan, while striking a balance is maintained financial stability and consumer protection.
